Mobile Exploreum

What a day. The kids and I, along with a group of friends, drove to mobile to see the dinosaur exhibit and kids science museum. Jackson had a pretty good time, alothough it was really crowded. There was even a littl earea where aubrie could crawl around and play. They both fell asleep on the way home!

Kite Day

We went to the park this morning to play and fly kites. It was sunny and really windy...so perfect kite flying weather. Jackson was actually able to get the kite up and fly it. He had a blast. Aubrie couldn't quite figure out what the things flying in the sky were, but she enjoyed herself. I have a feeling we are going to be doing a lot of kite flying at the beach this year!

Bad Hair Day

Poor Aubrie has the wildest hair I've seen on a little baby. I try to tame it with bows or put hats on her, but there is just no way to control it. Jackson, of course, cannot be out done by his sister with her unruly hair has to add his own touch to his. This picture does not actually do justice to a bad hair for Aubrie. haha. But I love her hair and it is just one thing that makes her so unique and special!

Chuck E Cheese

The kids had a great time at Chuck E Cheese last night. As soon as I told Jackson where we were going he went to his room, emptied out his piggy bank, and picked out all of his quarters so he could play the games. He rode all the little rides and played most of the games and with his 80 something tickets he got a small plastic lizzard and a sucker. Aubire had fun as well, watching Jackson and the other kids play. Jackson enjoyed his birthday evening very much. At Toys R US, with his gift card, he picked out a T-ball set and a bubble machince, so we will be playing outside today with his new toys!

Jackson turns 3!

I cannot believe Jackson is 3 years old. He's talking in full sentences, even full paragraphs! He doesn't not forget a thing and learns something new all the time. He can count to ten and knows all his colors and shapes. In August he will start preschool. I am so excited for him to be growing up and having new experiences, but sad that he is no longer my little baby boy. :( We are going to Chuckie Cheese tonight to celebrate as a family (He has been asking to go for at least a month). So here is to another year with Jackson and all the exciting and fun expereinces he will have!

Jackson's Party

Jackson had SO much fun at his party today. He ran around with all his friends, they played on the pirate ship, the tire swing, and the gator. They ate snacks, cake, and candy. Jackson opened all sorts of presents..cars, trucks, bubbles, sand toys etc. Aubrie had fun too(although she slept thourgh about half of the party), her friend Sidney came as well, who is just a few weeks older than her. What a fun day! Now its time for bed!

Gulfarium

I have two very tired children after a day at the Gulfarium in Fort Walton Beach. Jackson had a good time running after Megan and David. I think he enjoyed the shows but got a little impatient at the end. Aubrie had a good just watching Jackson and the other kids, but was tired and ready for her nap by the time we left. The weather was beautiful though, and makes me anxious for it to warm up for good! Enjoy the pics and videos.

Naval Aviation Museum

We went to the Air Museum this morning with Mom, aunt Melinda, Megan, and David. Jackson had a blast. He walked in and didn't say anything for almost an hour because he was so amazed and was just trying to take it all in. Aubrie was really good and sat in her stroller most of the time and we took turn pushing her. Megan rode the Desert Storm simutlator and said it was a blast. I'll have to let Jackson try it next time. What a busy morning. Both kids fell asleep on the way home! Gulfarium tomorrow...I'll post pictures!

Do they ever listen?

The kids would not listen today. I don't know how many times I told Jackson not to play in the water(since it was freezing and gross). And I don't know how many times I pulled Aubrie away from the water and she crawled right back, but here are some pictures of them not listening to
a word I said.
Of course not 30 seconds after I took the pictures, Jackson dumped water all over himself and got extremely upset so we had to go inside and change his clothes. Maybe he at least learned his lesson.
On a lighter note, I registered Jackson for preschool today. I cannot believe how big he is getting!

Pea Hat

This is the pea hat, as Drew call is, because it makes Aubrie look like a pea. Of course Jackson couldn't be left out and had to try it on as well. They are so funny.

Today we have been working on the Tiki Hut. Drew got the deck and fire pit bulit, with the help of Jackson, Aubrie, and I. haha I will put picutes up soon.

Pinic Lunch

High of 77 today! Yea! Jackson ate his lunch on his very own picnic table today because it was SO nice outside. I hope this warm weather stays and the rain doesn't come back! Oh, and maybe it won't get any hotter than 77 this year...haha.

Jackson loves his baby sister and they usually play together great, but this morning Jackson came up to me and asked "Mommy, can I please kick the baby?" Not that she had done anything to him, he just felt like kicking her a guess. Oh, and don't worry, I told him No!

Another Day

Another typical day in the Hill household. We had a playdate this afternoon for Jackson's friends to come and see the pirate ship playground. This is the first time that only girls have been able to make it to one of our playdates. So today Jackson had 4 girlfriends, but I don't think he minded ;) Aubrie enjoyed watching the kids play. It was almost 70 today and mostly sunny, so it was perfect to play outside!

Last night I finished reading The Gurnsey Literarty and Potato Peel Pie Society. It has a weird title, but was a REALLY good book. It was written a little unusually, but definitley an interesting story with a good ending. Highly recommend it!

Nap Time

Unfortunately nap time does not exsist in my house. Although Jackson desperately needs a nap(or a least and hour or two of quiet time) during the day it almost never happens, which leads to a fussy and cranky child by about 4 in the afternoon. And on days like today Aubrie can have the same problem. I finally got her to take her afternoon nap around 4:15(which is late for her) and jackson started having a melt down and woke her up before I could get her in her crib and shut the the door. This is how the kids thank me for taking them to the library, funplex, and park?

At the library today I let Jackson pick out a couple books and movies. Of course as much as I tried to persuade him otherwise he picked out a Christmas cartoon. Christmas in March anyone?

Oh well, maybe they will go to bed early tonight and I can watch American Idol in peace or maybe even read. haha

P.S. This picture is totally unrealted, but I thought it was cute!

Tiki Hut Raising

With the help of Gammy and G-dad we raised our Tiki Hut this weekend. Wow, what a process that was, but we finally did it! Drew has big plans for a bar, deck, and built in firepit. So we will have a Bar-BQ when it is all finished. Although, don't count on that being anytime soon. haha. He still has to complete the splash pad for the kid's pirate ship playground. What a really fun and BUSY weekend. Im exhausted.

ZOO Day

We went to the zoo today for the first time since it has reopend. Jackson LOVED seeing all the animals and couldn't wait to run from one exhibit to the other. He fed a goat, llama, calf, pig, giraffe, and camel! Although, I think his favorite part was riding the safari train to see the zebras, hippos, gorillas, etc. He wore himself out running around and fell asleep as soon as we got in the car to drive home.

Aubrie was not impressed with all the animals, but she loved watching all the other kids look at the animals. What a fun day! We will be back again soon. It's so cool for the kids to have the zoo less than 5 miles from their house!
