All-Nighters

This past Friday, Aubrie had a spend the night for a friend's birthday. The went to the Open Gym at the Funplex and then back to the friends house.

When I went to pick her up the next morning, the girls were so proud of themselves...the had stayed up ALL night long without sleeping at all.

At first I doubted them, but Aubrie fell asleep in the car on the way home. She slept from noon on Saturday to Sunday at 6am. 18 hours!!! I guess they really did stay up all night!!

Just a January Sunday Afternoon

Sunday was a beautiful day. Low 60s, sunny and no wind! It's been so cold and rainy that we took advantage and got outside. Jackson drove us on his boat to Red Fish, Blue Fish for lunch!

It was low winter tide so Drew had to pull us in!

After lunch we dropped the  kids back off at home and Drew and I grabbed Marlin and jetted across to the beach for just a bit! (only take about 5 minutes by boat)

Marlin was SO excited, he LOVES the beach!

Drew took a nap on the boat while Marlin and I went for a walk!

We also saw a lot of wildlife while we were out:

Blue Heron

Osprey, it's hard to see in this picture but he had just caught lunch!

Alligators & Cheesburgers

Last weekend, Papa & Nana were in Destin. Drew was working so the kids and I went to visit. We ate lunch at Fudpuckers, who doesn't like to see alligators at the same place you eat a Cheeseburger??

Usually you can feed the alligators, but it was too cold. We learned a new fact. Alligators stop eating during the winter (usually November - March). Oh well....maybe we'll go back in the Summer when we can feed them. ðŸ¤£

After lunch, we went and played laser tag at a facility next door. Laser tag has become a tradition when we go visit Nana and Papa in Destin! And let me tell you, it's a good work out too! :)

They even have an albino alligator!

Butterbeer & Basketball

Last Friday, Aubrie had her friend spend the night. We walked down to the park so they could play basketball (her friend plays on an Upward team). Aubrie had wanted a basketball goal for Christmas, it was one thing she didn't get (Santa didn't know where she would be able to play at our house since the driveway is gravel). As luck would have it, we have a basketball court and park just down the street!

After basketball the girls convinced me to take them to Starbucks since Aubrie had a gift card. Did you know Starbucks has a "Secret" Menu???? Yep! Apparently the girls googled it and decided they wanted a Butterbeer frappuccino (butterbeer is from Harry Potter). Fair warning, when you order off the secret menu, be prepared to give the barista the recipe ðŸ˜³

Aubrie was not happy about having her picture taken.

Butterbeer frappuccino. Below is the recipe in case you ever need it! Thanks goodness for smartphones!  LOL

  1. Optional: Line cup with caramel drizzle.
  2. Ask for a Creme Frappuccino base. Don't skimp on the fat by asking for skim or 2% milk as whole milk is required for the right consistency.
  3. Add 3 pumps of caramel syrup.
  4. Add 3 pumps of toffee nut syrup.
  5. Top with caramel drizzle.

Jackson ordered a gaming chair with some of his Christmas money. It arrived this same day and he put it together all by himself!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy 2019! We had a low key New Year's Eve. Some neighbors invited us over for lasagna and to let the boys shoot off a TON of fireworks they had got. Jackson had a blast!! Aubrie...not so much...

Look at the contraption they build to shoot off the fireworks.
