Aubrie's 1st Babysitting Job!

Aunt Amy, Uncle Zach and Brice came down for a long weekend recently. They stayed with us 1 night and then rented a condo on Pensacola Beach. Aubrie babysat Brice one afternoon so Amy and Zach could have some beach time without the baby. (I did not help, I was just Aubrie's transportation). She was very proud of herself! At one point, I was sitting on the ground playing Brice and Aubrie said "Mom! You are not supposed to be helping, get back on the couch!" ðŸ˜‚

Scalloping in Port St. Joe!

Labor day weekend we rented a beach house on Cape San Blas and went scalloping in Port St. Joe. Last year was the first time we had done this and we had so much fun we planned another trip for this year.

We left Friday after lunch and arrived at the house late afternoon. We spent some time on the beach, grilled burgers and then played games. Our friend, Denise, loves to plan games to play with prizes. The kids had a blast!

Saturday, we went scalloping on the boat. Even Aubrie snorkeled this year and found scallops! We found a lot more than the previous year.

Saturday night we cooked football food and watched the Auburn game. Unfortunately Denise tripped on the stairs and broke her ankle that night so we weren't able to scallop again on Sunday like we had planned. Instead, we spent a beautiful day on the beach. The beach is dog friendly and was almost completely empty except for us.

We could see beautiful sunsets from the back deck!

Playing games!

Getting ready to scallop. It was REALLY windy that morning and Aubrie refused to let me put her hair up.

Trying to avoid the water that was splashing up!

Exhausted after a long day of scalloping!

Not a bad haul!

More games Saturday night!

This mask was one of the prizes LOL

Our Sunday we spent on the beach!

Last year after we went scalloping, Hurricane Michael hit this area really hard. There was still a lot of damage and debris in west Panama City, Mexico Beach, and Port St. Joe. The city looked much different than it did last year when we visited and still has a lot of recovery to go. Below are some pictures of the damage that is still remaining.
